I hate the way I look. I run and hide whenever I see a camera or video camera pointed in my direction. Sadly my kids will have very few pictures of me when I’m gone. I feel horrible about that too.
I admire families who pose for family portraits for Christmas cards. I would love to be able to do that some day. My kids are teenagers and will be off on their own in a few years. There are only a few precious years left before the possibility of a family portrait is gone forever.
Last summer my family went on a lunch cruise on the Hudson River. We were happily snapping away taking pictures of the Statue of Liberty. Someone asked if we wanted the to take our picture. Reluctantly I agreed.
Even though I hate how I look, and my son is not exactly smiling, I think the picture turned out nice.

Recently I was asked if I wanted to review a canvas print from a company called Picanova. I was happy to accept the opportunity.
Originally I was going to have a photo of my two children turned into a canvas print. Then I thought about the picture of my family on the boat. I thought a family portrait would make a option for the canvas print.
I uploaded my photo to the Picanova website, chose the size I wanted as well as any special effects (Black and White, Sepia, Pop Art). I opted not to use a special effect. I liked the image “as is”.
You also get an option of how you want the canvas to look. You can have the photo stretched around the sides of the frame, white around the frame, black around the frame or other options. I chose to have the image wrap around the side of the frame.
I was a bit concerned that the qualify of the original photo might not be good enough. Thankfully I was wrong.
I couldn’t wait for the canvas print to arrive. When it did I literally tore into the package to see the print.
It’s wonderful! I love it! It turned out better than expected. It’s beautiful and I can’t wait to hang it up. Currently we are deciding on where we want to hang it (I want to hang it over the TV, my hubby wants to hang it in the dining room). For now I am keeping is safe in the bedroom closet.

The photo doesn’t do this canvas print justice – it’s much nicer in person.
I love this print so much that I am going to have one made up for my aunt and uncle for their special anniversary. I had my cousin send me some pictures to choose from.
Picanova has a special going on right now at Half Off Depot that I am going to take advantage of. Check out these rock bottom prices!
12″ x 8″ – $4.99
12″ x 10″ – $7.99
20″ x 16″ – $19.99
16″ x 12″ – $14.99
I am not sure how long the sale will last so I would strong suggest if you were interested in having a photo turned into a canvas print now is the time to do it. You cannot beat these prices, especially for a beautiful, quality canvas print.
These would also make AWESOME gifts!
I’m leaving for a press trip today. I won’t be back for a week. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the sale is still going on so I can get a print our two made up for my aunt and uncles anniversary. I also have a few photos of my family that I would also like to turn into canvas prints. For those prices I might get a few.
